Details

Description:
Lyx is being configured and compiled without threading support. Threading does enhance the user experience with Lyx (especially when working with large documents and previewing a lot).

Solution:
add the following to the PKGBUILD
--enable-threads=posix

My bad... Threaded document generation is only in Lyx 2, somehow got confused.
