The libpurple package includes "purple-remote" but that program cannot be run unless the package dbus-python is also installed. Without it, you get this error:

$ purple-remote --help
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/bin/purple-remote", line 3, in <module>
import dbus
ImportError: No module named dbus

Therefore, either dbus-python should be a dependency or libpurple should not include purple-remote...
