Details
Description:
The linux-firmware package recently replaced the ar9170-fw package (which has now gone). However, the linux-firmware package contains the older two stage firmware (ar9170-1.fw and ar9170-2.fw) as opposed to the newer one stage firmware (ar9170.fw) that was in the ar9170-fw package. My wireless card only works with the newer firmware. Could you please either include it in the linux-firmware package, or reinstate the ar9170-fw package? Additional info: * package version(s) linux-firmware-20100606-1 ar9170-fw-1.0-2 The working firmware is available here : http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/people/mcgrof/firmware/ar9170/ar9170.fw Steps to reproduce: 1. With up to date arch installation (only ar9170-1.fw and ar9170-2.fw in /lib/firmware) -> cannot scan for or connect to wireless networks 2. Manually download ar9170.fw to /lib/firmware and unplug/plug in dongle -> wireless works fine There's no need to remove the older firmwares, the driver automatically prefers ar9170.fw. |
