Description:
Firefox scaling is horrible

Additional info:

Firefox 3.6.6-1
Cairo 1.8.10-1

Steps to reproduce:
set up Firefox to scale up all images (common on high resolution display but small screen space)
eg in about:config

change layout.css.devPixelsPerPx to 1.3 (1.0 is default) and load a page with images, scaling is extremely ugly and quite more than just an annoyance, images are sometimes barely recognizable.

A fix has been made for Ubuntu here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox-3.0/+bug/217908

Upstream will take ages to implement the fix.

upstream is the right way. they know better how to fix it and if they didn't committed the patch yet, then is something wrong with it
