DetailsDescription:
It would be nice to have the following line as first Server line in /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist: # Server = ftp://ftp.archlinux.org/$repo/os/$arch Of course preceeded by the warning not to use it as primary sync server if you do not need it, but sometimes it comes in handy when a mirror was badly synced or the mirror's sync was only half-way and you end up with a screwed up system :-) In such cases it is no fun to look for a better mirror, so I use ftp.archlinux.org to get lingering or broken packages correctly. Now I have to copy this line to the top every time the mirrorlist changes. This is a very small request, but I think it only demands a very small effort to do this :-) Additional info: * package version(s) pacman-mirrorlist 20100621-1 |

Also, the mirrorlist file is not overwritten on upgrade. You do not need to alter it between upgrades if you do not want to.
Closing as won't implement.
