Details
Description:
Removing consolekit makes xorg-xdm unusable, on login success it sends you back to the login. Additional info: * package version(s) xorg-xdm 1.1.10-1 consolekit 0.4.1-2 * config and/or log files etc. Steps to reproduce: 1. have both packages installed and see login successful 2. remove consolekit (with pacman of course) 3. on login success you don't get logged in |

I don't see any reference to any component of consolekit in xdm
sources, so I don't see why xorg-xdm should depend on consolekit.
Maybe someone can explain why xdm isn't working without
consolekit?
Maybe the session you're trying to start requires it? I don't know
what you start with xdm, but if you put ck-launch-session in
.xinitrc and use that method to launch your desktop, then xdm will
return because ck-launch-session isn't found without consolekit.
It is/was required to launch my window manager in .xsession, I
only checked .xinitrc at first were I already removed
ck-launch-session. Bug can be closed, false alarm.
