Description:

I'm running Arch Linux 64 bit with KDEmod (4.4.4) on nvidia 9600 GT card using the latest drivers in the [extra] repo. For the last month at least I've had qraphical corruptions on my desktop in the upper left corner. The corruption is 6 to 9 small black squares that appear once in a while. If I move the mouse cursor over them, they lie below the cursor so I'm sure it is not my 22 inch Samsung screen that is causing the issue. Also the problem only in seems to be present in KDE itself and not in kdm (login manager). I've tried updating the nvidia drivers and also downgrading them and the corruption is still there. Even with the vesa driver it is still present. I hoped that the error would disappear with thwe new xorg 1.8 but it is still there.

Additional info:
* package version(s)
* config and/or log files etc.

Here is a screenshot of my desktop showing the problem. Plus my card is a 9800 GT and not 9600 GT.

Does this happen with normal KDE, or just with kdemod? The fact that you can reproduce this with xorg-server 1.7, 1.8, several nvidia drivers and even the vesa driver makes me believe that something else is wrong.

I haven't tried normal KDE because I'm only using KDEmod.

Report the bug to Chakra then.
