Details

Description:

there're two problem:
can not forward view flv files;
can not open some hd files.

i installed latest mplayer and smplayer form source,but it doesn't.so i download source and compile them ,still can not forward play flv files. after i press PgDn,smplayer crashed.

smplayer can not play some hd files(higher than 720p).but i when use mplayer ,anything is ok.while smplayer play files, first frame flash and then smplayer back to normal mode,no video but audio.
both video output device is xv,and audio output is pulseaudio.(yes,i had install pulseaudio)
my video card is nvidia 9300gs,i had install latest driver from source.

first of all, if you installed mplayer and smplayer from source, is not mine problem or arch problem. same think about nvidia driver.

i only support packages installed with pacman, from our repos.

second, this bug report is useless because you didn't attached any logs, smplayer can generate mplayer logs and smplayer logs.

third, use vdpau and not xv.

hmm that seems to be an issue that i noticed because now mplayer switched to libavformat demuxer for mkv and ogg and i think is a bug in smplayer because is making some configuration for files in file_settings in which is sets demuxer & co. this switch is confusing smplayer and it should be reported upstream

p.s if you actually select demuxer from smplayer to mkv it would work perfectly

or you can try rm -rf ~/.config/smplayer/file_settings and it should work for the first time and the second try doesn't work

i had remove all config files,both smplayer and mplayer's,but still not work,...

i think this maybe smplayer's question.waiting for update . thx for your reply.
