DetailsDescription:
libjpeg-turbo is an optimized fork of libjpeg, benchmarks show it's significantly (2x - 4x) faster then the default libraries. It's worth considering it as a replacement for the standard libjpeg. - libjpeg-turbo has a stable release (currently it is in beta)
- libjpeg-turbo is compatible with the current libjpeg release (and not a 12 year old release which lacks current features)
