Description:

The latest Geany version doesn't show certain popups, for instance the search dialog. Opening it seems to show a brief flash on screen, but doesn't open the dialog itself. I'm not sure if this is a Geany or GTK bug, but downgrading to an older Geany version solves this.

Additional info:

Not working: 0.19-1
Working: 0.18.1-1

Tested with gtk2 2.20.1-2 on the i3 window manager.

Steps to reproduce:

Upgrade to 0.19-1, start Geany, open search dialog (ctrl-f)

I'm using wmii and couldn't reproduce any of your problems.
I also switched to i3 to test it out and the find dialog worked.

it seems to be an update thing. when i rename the geany folder under .config the new version works alright, the old config dir produces the dialog problem.

Can't reproduce it Olivier, could you please give me more information about your system (architecture, and pacman.log to see other upgrades) ?

I had old configuration of geany on .config folder, and it worked fine :-/ weird, is there any other person with this problem?

If i'm the only one it's probably best to close this bug Angel..

It's most likely a config, template or colorscheme problem, but thrashing the old config and starting from scratch isn't really problematic.

Ok,

I will let the bug open for a couple of days to see if there is another person with the same issue, else I will close it.

hmm strange, after using 0.19 for a day the search-dialog is missing again, ctrl-f or choosing it from the menu does nothing. no idea why this happens, i'm going back to 0.18 for now..

i'm on 64bit btw, running the lastest stable packages.

what's the status of this?

Nobody reported it again, seems that it's a Olivier issue :-/. Olivier did you figured out how to reproduce the bug?

i'm still experiencing this bug. it does not happen 100% of the time and i can't really tell what the exact circumstances are. usually it occurs after 'a while', it's also the only program exhibiting this behaviour on my system.
