Description:

When using the IcedTea plugin provided by the openjdk6 package, the associated java process inevitably uses 100% cpu.

$ java -version

For example...

- install openjdk6
- Go to this java test website in firefox http://www.java.com/en/download/help/testvm.xml
- check your cpu usage

The site linked in the bug report did not cause the same issue for me, however, I have seen this before.

$ java -version
java version "1.6.0_18"
OpenJDK Runtime Environment (IcedTea6 1.8) (ArchLinux-6.b18_1.8-1-x86_64)
OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 14.0-b16, mixed mode)

I have not seen this happen with chrome, but I have seen it with firefox. Also, it happened when my system was i686, as well as now with x86_64.

Fixed upstream but not yet released. Actually, the 1.8 release is completely unusable xD

please check openjdk6-6.b18_0.hg_20100715-1 version based on a fresh hg shot.
