extra/go-openoffice 3.2.1.3-1 is missing ttf-ms-fonts as a dependency.

Steps to reproduce:
start soffice without ttf-ms-fonts installed, you will be presented with a bunch of rectangles where the fonts are supposed to be.
This task depends upon

Reason for closing:  Won't fix
Additional comments about closing:  there's a hint to install at least one ttf pkg in the install msg.

That may be true for documents that use ms fonts, but actually, I've never encountered such an issue. Maybe an optional dependency, but why should there be only one on ms-fonts and not on any other font in the repos as well?

xduugo,
because it will be unusable.
When I say "you will be presented with a bunch of rectangles where the fonts are supposed to be" I mean that there are no readable characters in the gui or anywhere else. This is on a fresh install too.
I'm unsure if this is *strictly* dependent on ttf-ms-fonts, or if other fonts would work also.

DejaVu or Bitstream Vera should work also. I think one of those is in optdepends, though I think adding dejavu to depends would be a good solution. Most regular installations will have those fonts anyways.

just tried ttj-dejavu and it worked, neither dejavu or bitstream is in optdepends

Ah, sorry. Thought you meant just the document. ttf-dejavu is a (hard) dependency of mplayer and there is also ttf-freefont (used by vlc) that should work.

I can't optdepend the package on each possible ttf-font pkg we offer. Think of Hindi and other Asian languages. You'd read the install note shown by pacman.
