I have this problem since I updated to .33 (ARCH), and it is still with .34 (ck).
I use very minimal DE, with thunar+hal automounting. Automounting works with usb drives/memory cards but not with cd.

This is dmesg output:

ata4: device not ready (errno=-16), forcing hardreset

mount -t auto /dev/sr0 /media/cd just hangs, no results.
mount -t udf,iso9660 /dev/sr0 /media/cd , better then usuall it does not hang.

I have tried with different optical media, few cd's, few dvd's.

P.S.
Burning does not work too, I have tried with all utils in repo and with nero-linux.

Please report this to upstream. (maybe can be a issue between driver and unit firmware)

Hi again.
This was false alarm. There was hardcore dust between moving parts and some of it on laser. After cleaning it works perfect.
