I just walked through a couple of Wiki pages and I noticed that the Official Arch Linux Install Guide is wrongly rendered. Though I thought that this could be caused by the transition to the new layout (which is great for the Wiki's), a look at the history page reveals this error is present since the revision of 9 August 2009.

When you look at the code parts, they are written using <pre> elements, but there are <code> tags inside with the angle brackets rendered as HTML entities:

<pre>&lt;code&gt; alias eth0 8139too
&lt;/code&gt;</pre>

I'm not sure this happens on other pages, too, but I couldn't find any in my short search.

Is this just an error on importing this page or a more general bug?

Dieter: If it's only the wiki page that needs to be fixed, I have the privs to edit it.

we use this script: http://projects.archlinux.org/aif.git/tree/make-doc.sh
to convert http://projects.archlinux.org/aif.git/tree/doc/official_installation_guide_en into the html source code which gets rendered by the wiki.

the markdown utility does this. ie `cat doc/official_installation_guide_en | markdown | less` tells me that the pre and code tags are added in the way you described
