imagemagick 6.1.7-1 import hangs the system when run:
import -window root test.png

My PC Speaker beeps are irregular intervals, and the system slows down to a crawl. Not sure exactly where this is coming from, but iphitus in IRC was able to confirm it.

Yes, I am able to reproduce it. You should report this to imagemagick devs.

I meant the actaul imagemagick developers, the imagemagick bug tracker, etc.. Not the Arch imagemagick maintainer. (which is me)

It has to be one of our dep pkgs because I've tried their binary release and that reproduces it to so it must be a recent package update, I'll try downgrading them all one by one later.

link, please try the forum again and give them more detail and and ask what libs are used by the -window code as it appears import works fine without it. (e.g. import somthing.png)

Magick developers found the bug, it will be fixed in the next release
