Firebird is an open source database that is in use by many production environment, have support in almost all programming languages, and is packaged by most Linux distributions. currently except the AUR we can not find Firebird in Arch, moreover PHP in Arch does not supply any support for it using normal shared library or PDO library. I think that Firebird should be packed in Arch both as normal packages and also in PHP for easier usage, like in many other distro's such as Debian and CentOS. |

I cannot add support for firebird to php as long as there is no package for it in our repos.
