Install media: archlinux-2010.05-netinstall-i686.iso
Hardware: HP nx6110, ipw2200 wireless (mPCI)

After performing a fresh base install and rebooting my wired network (static config) would not come up,only lo interface came up. The following error was displayed during boot "SIOCSIFFLAGS: Unknown error 132". The wireless adapter was not configured as i never used it. Removing the ipw2200 card allowed my wired Broadcom BCM4401-B0 network config to take effect.

Never experienced this problem before in 3yrs of Arch usage.

Did you install the firmware for ipw2200?

This also happens if your rfkill switch is on.
