DetailsI noticed a problem because gpodder does not show up its notification since 2 days. And in fact pynotify is broken
since the upgrade to dbus-glib I guess (because I upgraded dbus-glib 2 days ago) $ python Python 2.6.5 (r265:79063, Apr 1 2010, 05:22:20) [GCC 4.4.3 20100316 (prerelease)] on linux2 Type "help", "copyright", "credits" or "license" for more information. >>> import pynotify >>> pynotify.Notification('test').show() ** (.:13059): CRITICAL **: dbus_g_proxy_connect_signal: assertion `DBUS_IS_G_PROXY (proxy)' failed ** (.:13059): CRITICAL **: dbus_g_proxy_connect_signal: assertion `DBUS_IS_G_PROXY (proxy)' failed ** (.:13059): CRITICAL **: dbus_g_proxy_call: assertion `DBUS_IS_G_PROXY (proxy)' failed ** (.:13059): CRITICAL **: dbus_g_proxy_disconnect_signal: assertion `DBUS_IS_G_PROXY (proxy)' failed ** (.:13059): CRITICAL **: dbus_g_proxy_disconnect_signal: assertion `DBUS_IS_G_PROXY (proxy)' failed True and no notification is shown. I wonder if notification-daemon and libnotify need a rebuild since dbus-glib upgrade. That does not fix the pynotify problem here. So this bug might be an upstream bug. I don't know |

Reason for closing: Not a bug
Additional comments about closing: 2010-05-11: A task closure has been requested. Reason for request: OMG. In fact, pynotify works fine. you need to run pynotify.init() first before using the library.
