DetailsWhen I open xterm, associated permissions in /dev/pts/ are 0622 which permits everyone to write in.
It should be 0620 user:tty. Example with 6 xterm opened: % ls -l /dev/pts total 0 crw--w--w- 1 benoit benoit 136, 0 May 8 15:25 0 crw--w--w- 1 benoit benoit 136, 1 May 8 15:27 1 crw--w--w- 1 benoit benoit 136, 2 May 8 15:30 2 crw--w--w- 1 benoit benoit 136, 3 May 8 15:30 3 crw--w--w- 1 benoit benoit 136, 4 May 8 15:25 4 crw--w--w- 1 benoit benoit 136, 5 May 8 15:25 5 c--------- 1 root root 5, 2 May 8 2010 ptmx On a multiusers system it's easy to do ``cat /dev/urandom > /dev/pts/N''... |
