DetailsDescription:
When I went to install ImageMagick today on my VPS, I discovered that it wouldn't dlopen properly. Upon closer inspection with ldd, I discovered that the binaries libfreetype.so.6, libfontconfig.so.1, and libXext.so.6, against which libMagickCore.so and libMagickWand.so (and possibly more that I didn't inspect) were dynamically linked, were not present on the system. Upon installing the packages freetype2, fontconfig and libxext, ImageMagick started working. Additional info: * imagemagick was version imagemagick-6.6.1.4-1 * Both the i686 and x86_64 versions link against these binaries, but I haven't confirmed that a fresh installation of imagemagick won't pull in these packages, as they were already installed on my 64-bit system Steps to reproduce: * Have an Arch installation without freetype2, fontconfig or libxext installed * Install imagemagick * Attempt to dlopen or ldd /usr/lib/libMagickCore.so |
