Detailsopenjdk6 6.b18_1.8-1
Description: Attempting to load a Java applet in a browser page causes Chromium to report that the Java plugin crashed. Trying the same page in Firefox works, but navigating away from the page does not terminate the java process. (The process continues to run as a zombie) Both worked until recently. I believe that the package was updated a couple weeks ago (excerpt from /var/log/pacman.log): [2010-04-17 08:12] upgraded openjdk6 (6.b17_1.7.3-1 -> 6.b18_1.8-1) Replacing openjdk6 with jdk causes both browsers to perform correctly. Additional info: Console error messages attached Steps to reproduce: Install Chromium and openjdk6 Launch Browser Navigate to any page with a Java applet (Example page: http://www.ngsir.netfirms.com/englishhtm/Lissajous.htm did fail) observe sad puzzle piece and banner notifying of the error. If Chromium had been launched from a console, error data are displayed. Alternately, try the above with firefox. The page will display, but after navigating away, check processor/process usage (top) Java will continue to consume a significant amount of processor bandwidth. |
