Description: I got the following warning when upgrading GDM
today:
warning: directory permissions differ on var/log/gdm/ filesystem: 1770 package: 755 Additional info: * package version(s): 2.30.2-1 I'm on x86_64, if that matters. Steps to reproduce: Upgrade GDM to 2.30.2-1 |

the permissions of this directory is adjusted automatically by the
daemon and because gdm user is not available at compilation, make
install is creating the directory with root privileges.

I know this will shock and amaze you, but it happens with
2.30.2-2, too.
