The PKGBUILD for gtkpod still mentions a dependency on gnome-vfs. I can confirm that without gnome-vfs installed, gtkpod still builds and "does stuff". I'm deleting and uploading to my 4th gen iPod as I write this. gtkpod's own readme file also talks about using autofs or udev rules to the iPod now.

The warning regarding HAL in the install scriptlet (or the whole scriptlet?) could be removed as well.

Running version: 0.99.14.030610

gtkpod was ported from gnome-vfs+hal to gio. Hal is no longer needed, and gnome-vfs isn't needed either anymore. Please use namcap next time, it would have detected the change.
Note that you might want to update the git snapshot to 0.9.16, as there's quite some debugging output removed from that.

namcap shows some other items that can be removed as well if Im not mistaken. I've been testing the latest commit from the git repo and I haven't run into any issues yet. The attached patch removes the unneeded depends, bumps the version, and updates the .install scriptlet. Dev will need to download new source to ftp.archlinux.org and add a new md5sum.
