pacman -S gal did not do the same and installed correctly. evolution keeps on doing it :) Ctrl+C

Judd, it's true I just changed servers to ftp://ftp.ntua.gr/pub/linux/archlinux/extra/os/i686
ftp://ftp.ntua.gr/pub/linux/archlinux/current/os/i686

i thought it was ok, well it could be temporary, I will keep you update. ntua.gr is the most famous ftp server in Greece!

I have seen these before with corrupted packages, pacman doesn't resume OK then and starts downloading up to 180% or something like that. The resulting package is corrupted in the end, because it it 180% of the original size :P
