Description:
openoffice (writer) shows "General error" on opening any .odt or saving file with a new name. I faced this problem after upgrading openoffice-base from 3.2.0[-1] (don't remember exactly) to 3.2.0-3. I tried to delete .config/.openoffice.org/ directory but no changes. When starting from console it says:

** (soffice:18430): WARNING **: unable to get gail version number

Additional info:
* package version(s):
3.2.0-3

Steps to reproduce:
start soffice, open some .odt (get at error message), type a char, save as -> choose another filename (get an error message)

1) the given links describes just another problem
2) there's no real solution

So i ask to reopen this bugreport. I installed libgail-gnome but that had no effect.

There's some additions to the bug:
I can't open .xls files. Instead i get "Internal import error". I'm sure i worked with that files with OO.o and that files was not changed for a long time.

"General error" appears on opening .odt files with writer (but the document then open and i can work with it). But when opening .doc files everything goes as ususal without any errors.

as it has been said here http://bugs.archlinux.org/task/19253
> Updating single packages can be dangerous (obviously) and not supported. Always do a full system update and you will avoid these issues.

I made the full update and openoffice is now working. Should I really use "pacman -Su" every time I upgrade some package or installing new package which depends on the new versions of the existing packages?

So, in short, this bug report should be closed as 'not a bug'.
