"GETPASS_ASTERISKS" not recognized as a valid option.
If we uncomment GETPASS_ASTERISKS in /etc/login.defs and set it to '1' (show *'s in password field) next time we log in the following error message show up: configuration error - unknown item 'GETPASS_ASTERISKS' (notify administrator) |

The login.defs config file is provided by us so not need to submit a bug upstream.

This feature isn't supported since the login has been replaced
with PAM.
Maybe it should be removed from the file then. Please file a bug
report upstream:
