I wrote this file, but this freedesktop stuff is rather new to me. So today I' write it this way for better compliance :)

Categories=Application;TextEditor;Development;
MimeType=text/plain;text/html;text/css;text/x-perl;text/x-php;text/x-php-source;
the MimeType section reqires that update-desktop-database is called after installing, to make the mime-cache aware of the changes. Have a look at the blender package or at this mail, where I described the stuff.
http://www.archlinux.org/mailman/private/arch-dev/2004-November/001743.html
shall I update it, or at least checkin the changes in cvs?
if you can commit the changes, feel free ... i'm the next week not very frequently online
- added install file
- changed MultipleArgs to X-MultipleArgs (standard compliance)
- added GTK;Development;WebDevelopment to Categories
NOTE:
- TextEditor is left out, cuz Development is a supercategory, not a subcategory of TextEditor
- WebDevelopment is a valid subcategory of either Development or Network, so it is handled by the menu-building Application if it shows up under Network or Development
