DetailsDescription: The hybrid img/dvd 2010 installer that is in Beta does not appear to like SSD's and/or HDD combos for 64 bit. All the partitioning, cfdisk, automounting for an install on a disk, setting of mountpints failed. The error which was cryptic was block error on $1. Something else about a GPT problem. I had to go back to the 2008.02 64 bit cd to install my tower with arch. That dvd worked flawlessly. The 2008.08 also failed on my attempt to install with it. Here is my post in the forums the day I was trying to install.

What partiton layout do your drives use?
Did you select to use GPT partition layout?
Try to launch a partition app in console and look what error exactly shows up.
Please give me more details.
I have no idea what GPT is the tty spit it out just like the block error $1. Unfortunately that particular day took me about 4 hours to mess around with the install and the hybrid disc, and the preceding official did the same thing. The ssd is a Patriot, which is the same brand put in the Asus EEE's though not the same model. Then my secondary drive is Seagate platters.
I was thinking the hybrid dvd would help on a new 64 bit install. Up until now I have been in 32 userland.

gdisk should work fine for your device.
you could try answering GPT layout yes, this will enable the gpt part of the setup, it will prompt you for every action if you really want to do something.
Are you available by icq/jabber irc?
Discussing it directly maybe easier.
