Details

Time set in /etc/rc.local is done too late which causes various files/dirs to have wrong modification times. /sbin/hwclock --hctosys is also put above the creation of /etc/localtime, which otherwise would get wrong modification time.

Speedup is done by omitting depmod -a when no files newer than /lib/modules/$kernel_version/modules.dep are found in /lib/modules/$kernel_version (inspired by Slackware's rc.S)
