DetailsDescription:
After the last update (2010-apr-01), xfce4-panel breaks and starts displaying borders and title bar. I've found a somewhat relevant (if older) ubuntu discussion of the similar bug due to glib update, but xfce4-panel 4.6.3 (already installed) should have fixed that; it's still possible that it's the glib/2 regression: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xfce4-panel/+bug/503633 http://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=6117 Here's the list of packages affected by *downgrade* process which brought things back to normal; there was a problematic package among them (by the PKGBUILD changes, it seems that it is not xfce4-settings; rebuilding it doesn't fix the problem, but due to dependencies, I have no idea if maybe that's the problem): [2010-04-02 00:49] starting full system upgrade [2010-04-02 00:49] upgraded glib2 (2.24.0-1 -> 2.22.5-1) [2010-04-02 00:49] upgraded atk Looked again, and the problem is solely due to the glib2: 2.24.0-1 shows the taskbar, with 2.22.5 everything is correct.
I'm running 64-bit arch linux, and am starting X directly through startx in inittab (x:5:once:/bin/su e -l -c "/bin/bash --login -c 'ssh-agent startx'") and launching xfce in my ~/.xinitrc with "ck-launch-session startxfce4". Absolutely new and clean profile didn't change anything: the default xfce desktop shows the titlebar/border as well.
Rebuilding xfce4-panel or glib2 doesn't change anything.
