Description:

I'm trying to install photran in eclipse by adding

http://download.eclipse.org/tools/ptp/releases/galileo

under help - install new software

and then choosing the photran runtime. But then I get this error

Cannot complete the install because one or more required items could not be found.
Software being installed: Photran End-User Runtime 5.0.1.201002011019 (org.eclipse.photran.feature.group 5.0.1.201002011019)
Missing requirement: Photran End-User Runtime 5.0.1.201002011019 (org.eclipse.photran.feature.group 5.0.1.201002011019) requires 'org.eclipse.cdt.feature.group [6.0.0,7.0.0)' but it could not be found

on ubuntu 10.04 beta1 this works fine and I have under Arch Linux eclipse-cdt installed as photran needs but still it won't install.

Additional info:
* package version(s)
* config and/or log files etc.

eclipse-cdt 6.0.2

Steps to reproduce:

1. install eclipse with eclipse-cdt
2. run eclipse
3. add under help - install new software
http://download.eclipse.org/tools/ptp/releases/galileo
4. choose photran runtime and then install

For some reason it is possible to install photran if you run

sudo eclipse

and then do step 1 to 4. I don't understand why because under Ubuntu I don't have to run eclipse via sudo.

Well I fixed this partly. I was able to install photran as a normal user but I had to un install eclipse-cdt and install locally through eclipse install new software manager. Then the installation of photran could be completed. So something is missing in eclipse-cdt.

Still doesn't work. I get the following error when trying to install photran.

Cannot complete the install because one or more required items could not be found.
Software being installed: Fortran Development Tools (Photran) 6.0.3.201009162109 (org.eclipse.photran.feature.group 6.0.3.201009162109)

why don't you use aur/eclipse-photran 6.0.7-1 (7)
IDE for Fortran 77, 90, and 95 based on Eclipse and the CDT
??
