* Problem occurs even if firefox and xulrunner are reverted to firefox 3.5 (which previously worked).

Steps to reproduce:
Right click on any web-page or hover over a picture with title attribute (xkcd?)

Reason for closing:  Not a bug

do you remember if you did some library symlink in the past? like libpng 1.4.0 to libpng 1.2?

This is probably caused by an incompatibility with your gtk theme. Try using a different theme.

Not as far as I am aware.

"ls -l /usr/lib|grep png|less" gives:
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 189882 Mar 5 04:13 libpng14.a
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 18 Mar 5 04:13 libpng14.so -> libpng14.so.14.1.0*
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 18 Mar 5 04:13 libpng14.so.14 -> libpng14.so.14.1.0*
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 168598 Mar 5 04:13 libpng14.so.14.1.0*
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 10 Mar 5 04:13 libpng.a -> libpng14.a
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 11 Mar 5 04:13 libpng.so -> libpng14.so*

I have changed my theme to "Clearlooks" (maintained the icons scheme as Tango, don't expect this to interfere). Error still occurs.

Problem does not persist when not using Compiz. Compiz's firefox menu workaround doesn't work.

Probably not a bug in Firefox or anything to do with Arch Linux. Going to request closure.
