Are there any error messages reported when the second file is opened?

Must be an error in the launcher script. The launcher script that comes with mozilla/firefox/thunderbird is buggy on this. I think it pops up the profile selector instead of displaying the link in a tab.

Actually, with the latest package, I can open html files from nautilus but only in the most recent tab/window. The tabbed browsing preferences in Firefox are ignored.
