DetailsDescription:
To use IPython.kernel (parallel computing), python-foolscap is needed instead of twisted that is listed as optional dependency for ipython. I made quick python-foolscap ( http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=35278 ) package in AUR, as I understand it cannot be added to opt dep that way, but what steps would be needed for this to go to community what I guess would be requirement to add it to optdep? See http://ipython.scipy.org/doc/rel-0.10/html/install/install.html#foolscap for confirmation that's it's dependency (and requires twisted by the way) |
This task depends upon
for community candidates. The package looks pretty straightforward, and
I don't think we'll have any problem moving it to [community].
When I build the next ipython package, I'll add a couple more optdepends
that I missed, namely python-pexpect and python-nose.
The former is used for irunner, and the latter allows people to run the
ipython test suite.
Granted, most users probably won't be running the ipython test suite...
Thanks for your very informative link to the docs.
