I got an error upgrading mysql today. I get the error again when I do pacman -S mysql.

(4/7) upgrading mysql-clients [######################################################################################################################] 100%

error: command failed to execute correctly

Additional comments about closing:  this bug was in previous mysql packages. mysql 5.1.44-1 works.

check if /var/lib/mysql dir exists. If not create it and re-install mysql.
I'll look into this when I come back on Tuesday.
