perl-file-mimeinfo is required for chromium's "open"/"open in folder" behavior for downloads (if you're not using a DE)

Additional comments about closing:  I agree with Pierre, this should be an optdepend for xdg-utils, not chromium

This is more an optdepends for xdg-utils on which chromium depends.
