Description:
when using the driver xf86-video-geode on the netbook eCafé EC800 (Hercules), all the icons are invisible. This happens with openbox, lxde, xfce and certainly others. Using the vesa drivers solves the problem but X becomes very slow. I have the problem since November 2009, before it has worked.

Additional info:
* package version(s) : 2.11.6-1
* config and/or log files etc.

Steps to reproduce:
install xf86-video-geode on an eCafé EC-800
configure xorg
launch X

You could try setting AccelMethod to EXA in xorg.conf, the default is XAA for the Geode driver. This has been flipped around a few times. EXA doesn't work on the GX, but your netbook has an LX.

I'm not sure I did it correctly but in the Section "Device" I've added :

Option "AccelMethod" "EXA"

It still does not work.

Is this still a problem? Did you try to find any answers to other places since its been more than a year?
