Description:

openoffice-base does not require GTK+. But its installation script (openoffice.install) relies on the gtk-update-icon-cache binary from the gtk2 package.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Ensure you don't have gtk2.
2. Install openoffice-base.
3. Get error that gtk-update-icon-cache can not be found.

These files are dynamically linked with main libs of gtk2.

/usr/lib/openoffice/basis-link/program/fps_gnome.uno.so
/usr/lib/openoffice/basis-link/program/libvclplug_gtkli.so
/usr/lib/openoffice/basis-link/program/pluginapp.bin

I might be wrong saying that GTK+ is not required, but i judged by declared dependences of openoffice-base. Anyway there is a mismatch.

gtk2 has been added as dependency to the 3.2.0-1 package, so this should be fixed by now. The previous release didn't depend on gtk2.

pacman -Qi will show you that openoffice-base 3.2.0 has gtk2 dependency included. There's nothing wrong with it. If you want to use OOo without gtk2 you will need to force the installation.
