Details

Description:

/arch/setup end up with:

chroot: cannot run command 'passwd': no such file or directory

after selecting "set password" in config menu.

Additional info:
- used installation medium: archlinux-2009.08-core-i686.iso (torrent)
- command passwd can be found by 'which' cmd

Steps to reproduce:

Start installation and set password in config menu.

Did you actually install archlinux before skipping to configuration? If the shadow package isn't installed, you can't set the root password from system configuration either.

Yes, I installed base packages. However config files were empty.

I tried installation again and found out that grub installation failed because of shared /boot partition. Although process failed there was no explicit warning so I just hit continue.
