Description:

After the last update of libmtp(1.0.2-1), with Amarok opened, when I try to plug my mtp device,
Amarok is closed. The details section of KDE error handler (the windows that pops up when Amarok fails) says:

Executable: amarok PID: 3895 Signal: 11 (Segmentation Fault).

In the former versions of libmtp, sometimes, Amarok didn't recognize the mtp devices, but it never failed.

Additional info:
* package version(s)

amarok 2.2.2-3
libmtp 1.0.2-1

* config and/or log files etc.

Steps to reproduce:

1 - Open Amarok.
2 - Plug in mtp device.

I think amarok needs a rebuild cause of new libmtp 1.x

no, I cannot reproduce this here. My mtp device works with amarok 2.2.2-3 and libmtp 1.0.2-1.
Can you try with a clean configuration? (remove or move .kde4/share/{apps,config}/amarok*)
Comment by Víctor Rodrigo (VKRagnarok) - Friday, 05 February 2010, 17:11 GMT
I have removed .kde4/share/apps/amarok, .kde4/share/config/amarok-appletsrc and .kde4/share/config/amarokrc but the problem persists.

can you try to rebuild amarok? or tell me which architecture are you using and I will give you the rebuilt package.

I don't know how to rebuild Amarok. If you tell me what I have to do, I can try it.

Otherwise, I'm using x86_64.

I have done what you say.

Now, I can't open Amarok.

When I try to open it from the console, it says:

amarok: error while loading shared libraries: libknewstuff3.so.4: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

sorry I thought you are using KDE 4.4, let me rebuild it with KDE 4.3
Comment by Andrea Scarpino (BaSh) - Saturday, 06 February 2010, 04:39 GMT
ok, try again
Comment by Víctor Rodrigo (VKRagnarok) - Saturday, 06 February 2010, 11:09 GMT
Now it works without problems.

Thank you for your time and effort.
