Detailsthe default package for emacs doesnt have many modes (which allow syntax highlighting and other stuff for certain languages).
Can't they be all bundled together with the emacs or another package emacs-extra or something? |
This task depends upon
by the GNU emacs source distribution.
Arch always ships vanilla packages if possible. Adding non-standard lisp packages to the emacs package would also make it harder to maintain (You need to upgrade emacs if a newer version of a lisp-package is available)
It's a good idea to submit additional emacs-modes to aur.archlinux.org. The excellent auctex-mode is already available.
