Description:
dina-font-2.89-4 fails to install properly. It gives the following error during install:

Couldn't determine full name for Dina.fon
Couldn't determine slant for Dina.fon
Couldn't determine weight for Dina.fon
Couldn't get family name for Dina.fon
Updating font cache... done.
Note that local fonts are now (with xorg-7.0) in /usr/share/fonts/local/
Make sure that you add /usr/share/fonts/local/ to xorg.conf under the
"Files" section

This means that rxvt-unicode can not use this font.

Steps to reproduce:
pacman -S dina-font

can't replicate

Hmm.. I just tried to install it from the main repo (ftp.archlinux.org). Still no dice. Downgrading to previous package version works. I'm using x86_64 without testing enabled and no strange font settings.

Comment by Thomas Dziedzic (tomd123) - Thursday, 04 February 2010, 19:20 GMT
I tried -3 and -4, and I still got the errors.

Confirmed with -4. Get the same errors.

The problem is not fixed. rxvt-unicode does not recognize the font when using normal X11 font e.g.: -*-dina-medium-r-*-*-16-*-*-*-*-*-iso8859-1

And besides non-standard characters are not displayed correctly in gnome-terminal.
Comment by Rasmus Edgar (ashren) - Friday, 05 February 2010, 15:35 GMT
Disregard the gnome-terminal comment. It is unrelated.

tested by multiple users in multiple configurations. including urxvt. this appears to be a system specific error
