Description:

I was about to configure MySQL so it supports InnoDB, and
I found out that it was enough with modifying my.cnf so
InnoDB options are set. But once I uncommented InnoDB lines,
MySQL was not starting ([FAIL] :_().

Trying to find out why, I get to:
http://bugs.mysql.com/bug.php?id=37165

"[...] I had to remove properies that were no longer user/needed/understood in this
version. It seems that MySQL doesn't simply ignore them. For instance, the setting

innodb_log_arch_dir = /usr/local/mysql/data/

which was copied from a previous my.cnf file, was causing the error too. [...]"

So, I just commented this string and MySQL got to start :)

I think this line should be removed from the default configuration file,
so enabling InnoDB keeps being as easy as uncommenting the proper lines.

Additional info:

It is related to the current version.
