DetailsAs of recently, ffmpeg is built from a svn snapshot and the pkgver is currently set to a date string. However, svn uses increasing and more meaningful revision numbers, so why not use it instead as package version?

Reason for closing: Not a bug
Additional comments about closing: it was choosed like so, maybe on the next iteration we will use svn revision version. you can actually find what revision is with ffmpeg --version

But does it make sense? I mean, following this logic, shouldn't mplayer use a datestring then, too?
