DetailsI'm new to Arch, so forgive me if this is inappropriate / not feasible.
I installed the latest xorg today, and was looking forward to running it without setting up a xorg.conf file. However I was disappointed when my input devices weren't recognized (necessitating in a hard reset). The solution was to add hal to the DAEMONS in /etc/rc.conf. Given HAL is now the standard way for xorg to recognise input devices, it would make sense to add this by default if xorg is installed (or at the very least inform the user that this is probably a good idea). |

Additional comments about closing: this is well described in beginners guide and like a side note, arch doesn't configure anything for you. is your duty.
