PIL is super hard to find in the repos, and it doesn't seem to fit the scheme of naming python packages as python-foo.

Renaming this is probably in order.

I dunno, I just know it was a little more difficult to find than I expected

Weren't we in the habit of naming python packages as python-foo anyway? That's the sole reason I threw this up here

Agreed. And I agree that the current naming probably goes against the informal python packaging guidelines that we have. I will change it one day...

I used pil before and haven't found it too hard to find. That said, I think pil should be renamed to python-pil or a similar python-pkg name. Just my $0.02.

edit: python-imaging doesn't exactly seem like the best choice :)
