after last update pdflatex command is not able to make any of previous documents with eps inputfile. To restore the prior behaviour, manually edit the file /usr/share/texmf-dist/tex/latex/latexconfig/graphics.cfg and uncomment the lines 56 to 71.
I will consider patching this to make it available by default in the next release, but I don't consider this a bug.
