Detailsglibc comes with a very nice tool, libmemusage. To try it just run
LD_PRELOAD=/lib/libmemusage.so executable However to enjoy the full functionality of this tool we also need "memusagestat" and "memusage.sh", from malloc/ directory in glibc tree. The ugly thing is that memusagestat needs libgd to compile, and that's too much for a dependency of glibc. So I suggest to create a separate package "memusage" with those three files from glibc: libmemusage.so, memusage.sh, memusagestat. What do you think? |

The main problem here is that split packages can not go in different repos. So this would need to be done in a separate PKGBUILD from glibc. So, I suggest makeing one for the AUR and if popularity warrants, I will move it to [extra].
