First off, sorry JGC for flagging mjpegtools out of date. I just realized that this is the year 2010.

Description:

png2yuv in mjpegtools has a massive memory leak. There's a patch that was submitted and committed to their CVS tree:

mjpeg-users@lists.sourceforge.net/msg08025.html"> http://www.mail-archive.com/mjpeg-users@lists.sourceforge.net/msg08025.html

Is there any chance of getting the Arch package patched?

Package version:
* mjpegtools 1.9.0-2

I'm also affected by this one. It's quite a PITA as png2yuv is killed by the kernel once the memory leak totally floods system RAM, making it impossible to encode even a moderate sized vid if png2yuv is involved...

Obviously upstream's responsibility and they have it in CVS... but that's since May 2009 or so... hmmm.
