DetailsDescription:
gpsdrive could not start because of the missing geoinfo.db file. As in this thread (http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=78741) described gpsdrive could not start if the geoinfo.db file is missing. The file could be downloaded from http://sourceforge.net/projects/gpsdrive/files/. It is included in openstreetmap-map-icons-minimal.tar.gz. For a test I downloaded the tar.gz, exctract the file and put geoinfo.db to the right destination in /usr/share/gpsdrive/. Now gpsdrive could start without problems. Please add the missing file to the gpsdrive package. Additional info: * gpsdrive 2.10pre7-5 Steps to reproduce: Fresh gpsdrive package installed with pacman. $ gpsdrive Connection to GPS Daemon on 127.0.0.1:2947 established. DB: Error while opening /usr/share/gpsdrive/geoinfo.db: unable to open database file |
This task depends upon
Just the information "Don't forget to generate geoinfo.db with geoinfo.pl script" doesn't made gpsdrive usable for me out of the box because I don't know what to do with the script.
geoinfo.pl has no man page and the geoinfo.pl --help option isn't the best information about the usage to get gpsdrive work for a normal user.
Why don't check and maybe touch /usr/share/gpsdrive.db if it is missing.
A simple touch /usr/share/gpsdrive/geoinfo.db as root helped to start gpsdrive as normal user in my case.
Just my suggestion about the package. If I am wrong don't mind my request to re-open.
